Employee Expectations Are Changing – Are You Prepared To Change, Too?
- By Harri Insider Team | January 19, 2022
Over the last two years, employee expectations have changed dramatically. The COVID-19 pandemic gave people the opportunity to rethink their careers, and with furlough now at an end, many have already made the move. As a result, the competition for top talent has intensified. So if employers want to attract and retain this talent, they’ll need to up their game.
Let’s take a look at two businesses that are already nailing the employee experience…
Dishoom named best hospitality company in the UK
Glassdoor recently named Dishoom the best hospitality company to work for in the UK – and with good reason! Ranking at number 12 on the best 50 places to work in 2022, the Indian restaurant group is well known for its work-life balance, benefits, and compensation packages – three things most applicants are looking for. It’s no surprise they won the Employer Award at the R200 Restaurant Awards in November 2021.
If you’re unfamiliar with the annual Glassdoor list, it’s based on genuine reviews from existing and former employees, so it’s completely unbiased. Of course, Dishoom isn’t the only hospitality business that’s making big changes this year.
Fuller’s offers all employees private healthcare
UK pub operator and brewer, Fuller’s, recently partnered with Medicash to launch a brand-new healthcare benefits scheme. This is part of a package of improvements and will ensure that all pub and hotel team members have access to healthcare benefits, regardless of their position.
On top of this, Fuller’s has improved its staff discount scheme, which increases with the duration of employment – a perk that’s sure to attract new talent in 2022.
“We’re extremely proud to be mentioned in the Morning Advertiser for the continuous work we are doing on creating a compelling and attractive benefits package for all our current and future employees,” said Fuller’s in a Tweet.
More businesses are jumping on the benefits bandwagon
Our latest UK Hospitality Compensation Expectations Report revealed that 49% of businesses are implementing reward programmes, 30% have introduced wellbeing and gym membership plans, and 26% are offering healthcare plans. What’s more, of the 60 employers surveyed, 19% said they’re now providing transport allowances to help their people reduce their monthly expenses.
Do you want to be one of the businesses making positive changes for the benefit of their staff? After all, this could be the difference between getting ahead of your competitors or falling behind.
