Generator Establish a Best in Class Employee Experience with Harri

Harri renew partnership with Generator and Freehand Hotels

There are many reasons for the success of boutique accommodation provider Generator, but key amongst them is recognising the value of its people and investing in them.

So it’s no surprise that Generator has turned to leading workforce management tech firm Harri to help it create a world-class employee experience.

Generator’s partnership with Harri will see the company, which has properties in 15 locations in Europe and America, including four Freehand sites in the US, utilise Harri’s complete end-to-end platform, from Talent Acquisition to Workforce Management

As well as benefitting managers and team members, Harri’s tech solutions will enable Generator & Freehand Hotels to offer a best in class experience for prospective candidates.

It’s not the first time the two companies have come together: Generator originally partnered with Harri two years ago, but the partnership was derailed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, with international travel opened up, the relationship is back on track. In addition to that, the partnership was extended to the sister company Freehand Hotels. Freehand is a collection of hotels that combine innovative design, award-winning food and beverage, and community spirit. Each Freehand location, across New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami, takes its cues from its surrounding neighbourhood, with spaces that are a microcosm of the best each city has to offer.

Voted by Fast Company as one of the top 50 Most Innovative Global Companies, the Generator boutique accommodation brand holds properties in the most central locations across Europe, including Dublin, London, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Berlin, Venice, Barcelona, Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Rome and Madrid. It also has properties in Miami and Washington. Pioneers of affordable lifestyle and masters of the social experience, all Generator properties include a range of room types from shared to private bedrooms, co-working and casual public areas, bars, cafes and a variety of spaces available for private hire; from street-facing or basement exhibition spaces to penthouse suites and rooftops.

Innovation is a characteristic shared with Harri, whose technology is built for service industries and designed to help businesses recruit, engage and manage their most important asset – their teams.

Through Harri’s Talent Acquisition Suite, Generator & Freehand Hotels will now benefit from a host of functions to help with hiring, including screening questions to enable managers to quickly and easily identify the candidates most suited for the role. Harri’s video interviewing function will also allow potential employees to show off their best selves and to do so in their own time.

They will also benefit from using Harri’s friendly, human-like AI hiring assistant Carri, who can manage the entire application and candidate communications lifecycle via SMS, web-based chat on Generator’s careers page, Facebook Messenger, and more. With Harri, Generator & Freehand will also be able to build career story pages on its website to showcase the company’s amazing culture to potential applicants.

For Generator’s existing team members, Harri’s Workforce Management System will enable easy communication and help keep staff fully onboard at the click of a button; tools include Harri’s Smart Scheduling Module which allows employees to swap, drop and request more shifts as they need to, whilst on the go through the TeamLive app.

“We are excited to collaborate with Harri as our HR systems partner allowing the teams to make quicker hiring decisions which is key in the current climate for talent acquisition.” said Alastair Thomann, CEO for Generator “We are looking forward to creating a seamless user experience for both candidates & managers.”

Andre Guettouche, COO for Freehand Hotels said, “Harri will enable our GMs and property teams to create further payroll efficiencies with the help of their workforce management system.” Looking forward to implementing the end to end solution, Andre goes on to say, “Allowing managers to use the app on the go enables the team to spend more time on the floor with our guests as well as reducing a lot of admin time for requests such as shift swap or holiday approval which can easily be completed via the mobile app.”

Andrew MacDonald, Operations Director for Harri says, “It is clearly evident from attending the recent General Manager Conference in Dubai, just how much the team ethos is cherished at Generator and Freehand, and Harri is delighted to partner with this great team to provide the best applicant, team member and central team experience for all things people. Andrew goes on to say, “We are excited to work with our first upscale lifestyle accommodation brand across Europe.”
