Christmas is supposed to be the busiest time of year for hospitality, with an annual scramble to find enough people to fill temporary vacancies over the party season. While this year was shaping up to be busier than last, with Covid restrictions eased and operators desperately trying to fill permanent and temporary roles, sadly things are now looking rather different.
Online food delivery company, Deliveroo, recently conducted a survey of 350 small and independent restaurants that worked with the platform between October and November 2021. Unsurprisingly, it found that supply chain and staffing issues were having a significant impact on operations.

About three out of five hospitality workers have struggled with a mental health issue in their career, according to Hospitality Action’s Mental Health Survey 2020.
