Kickstart Announcement January 2021

Harri is delighted to announce our first 14 businesses; all of whom have received approval by the Department of Work & Pensions to proceed with their 237 Kickstart roles in total.

This is fantastic news and gives us confidence that our next batch of applications will return as a positive Kickstart story too.

So What Does This Mean?

There has been a 42% increase in the unemployment rate and a 120% increase for those going onto unemployment benefits/universal credit for 16-24-year-olds, from Dec 19 to Sep 20 (House of Commons Library, Nov 10th 2020).

Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism has helped before (employing 1 in 6 after the 2008 market crash, according to UK Hospitality) and can again by crafting partnerships with young people to show off the range of skills that can be grown in these industries. The Government are funding £2 billion into the UK initiative.
Kickstart presents an opportunity for businesses to invest in their future, by bringing their current/future consumers inside the industry to create a valuable pipeline of talent.
This fantastic news has kickstarted confidence amongst Employers who will be recruiting and training Kickstart employees to prepare for the opening of hospitality.
Harri and Springboard will support your Kickstart application and guide you through to a successful approval.

Then you can start to advertise your jobs on HospitalityUnite. The process takes up to 6-12 weeks so now is the time to make the application!
